Corky Sault Enterprises, LLC, has invented a toilet brush that is designed to both see and clean under-the-rim of a toilet fixture. The brush has an embedded mirror opposite the brush so that the individual cleaning the toilet bowl knows that the under-the-rim area was indeed cleaned.
According to the Housekeeping Channel, bacteria can produce a protective slime or biofilm that prevents disinfectants from getting in. Such surfaces need to be agitated with a brush or scrubber to break up the slime barrier. However, the person cleaning the area doesn't really know if the bacteria were removed without looking.
